It's 4:30 AM, I have yet to go to bed & I'm just a tad tired. after arriving at Kennedy Space Center, I, somehow, managed to find my way out to the Saturn V exhibit. It was a low key affair, shuttle buses leaving from an out of the way corner of the main visitor complex. But I asked the right person the right question at the right time & got to see the largest rocket ever built. The Saturn V was the rocket used for the Apollo moon missions.
Even better than that display, I got to see the shuttle illuminated in the hazy night from just 3 miles away. It was a complete surprise. I didn't expect such a dramatic view at least not until getting to the causeway where I'll--knock on wood--get to see the actual launch, but by then it will be daylight & the distance further at 6 miles.
