My main stop today was Mount Rushmore. It is a pretty small site, I still managed to fill 2 hours here. I walked the trail to the base of the mountain, took various shots of the sculpture, visited the sculptors, studio, watched the film, browsed the museum, & and took about a dozen photos for people with the prezes in the background.
Have you seen Grandad's picture of this? He visited when they were making it and has a picture of it half finished. It would be cool to compare the photos.
ReplyDeleteNo, I didn't know he ever visited. That might have been on the trip he took during the depression to inspect some properties for the insurance/title(?) company. I read his journal--It is partly what inspired me to start doing a better job documenting my trails--but it didn't have pictures in it.
