Upper Sioux Agency State Park

I intended to camp last night in Upper Souix Agency State Park.  Even though I found other accommodations, I stopped by this park this morning.  I expected to have a look at the historic structures and snap a picture at the scenic overlook and move along.  Then, I saw a brochure for a geocaching challenge.  I accepted.  It got me out on the trail, which I really appreciated while hiking through the prairie.  I found all 9 caches & earned my right to a coin.  In all, it took a little more the 2 hours.

  1. I just learned about geocaching last month. Sounds like it is really wide-spread. Glad you were successful.

  2. Geographically, they are all over the place. I don't know how many people actively participate. This is the first time I've done it in a long time. I have much better luck at coordinated sites than those placed by individuals. My mom & I once went on a hunt in Fernwood, where they placed the caches in real fun, clever places.
