Last night, I camped at Indian Grinding Rock State Park in the Western Sierras. This morning, I woke up at sunrise to explore the park. Miwok Indians used an outcropping of rock to pound acorns into to flour. Their actions left behind over 1,000 mortar holes in the rock. In addition to looking if these Chaw'se, as the Miwoks called them, I walked a short interpretive trail through the forest.
